Our Story
Quilting has been a part of my life since I was young. My grandmother was always making something for a church bazaar or to donate to the local nursing home. When she wasn't making quilts for others, she was busy making sure that each member of the family had a quilt. I would spend summers with her learning how to quilt and helping her ma
Quilting has been a part of my life since I was young. My grandmother was always making something for a church bazaar or to donate to the local nursing home. When she wasn't making quilts for others, she was busy making sure that each member of the family had a quilt. I would spend summers with her learning how to quilt and helping her make her treasures for others.
When she left us in 2015, I took up the mantle of family quilter, continuing the tradition of quilting for loved ones and friends. Now, I want to take my love for quilting and share it with others.
Completed quilts are a great gift to both give and to receive. Shopping for quilting fabric can be a challenge, but The Patchwork Platypus hopes to provide a fun quilt shop experience.

Machine piecing is done on Singer Sewing machines. All quilting fabrics are 100% quilting cotton unless otherwise noted and batting is 80/20 for durability and warmth.
